Hello everyone.
If this is your first time here i would like to say welcome. If you are unfamiliar with the legislation being presented and how it might effect you or your club this will hopefully answer a few questions. Last summer i had approached house Representatives Dave bonner and Pat Childers with some concerns about getting our dwindling charity funds brought back up to where they should be to help the local boys and girls club, little league baseball and our local free clinic. Since bingo wasn't as popular as it was 20 years ago My idea was to find out if they thought using antique slot machines as defined by the state description would be acceptable if used in the private clubs and what all would be involved in getting the legislation passed.
The rough draft was drawn up with the help of the state attorney general and presented on the floor during the budget session in jan. during the budget session a bill must have a 2/3rds vote to move onto the floor. House bill 0082 narrowly missed the 2/3rds vote by 4 votes which is quite surprising since usually during the budget session if it does not pertain to the wyoming budget it does not go far. sponsers for the bill so far are house Representatives Dave bonner,Pat Childers, Roy Cohee, Bill Thompson and senators Hank Coe and Bruce Burns.
We need at this juncture some input and a show of support for the bill that will be reintroduced during the regular session in cheyenne this January. i would like to hear all your thoughts, concerns and suggestions concerning the bill and whether you support the bill for your area. here is a link to what was introduced last January.
